With just over two weeks to go until our Spring Open Weekend, we thought we’d give you a bit more information about what you can expect from coming along to a Tentario Tipi open day.

#1. See the Tipis!

Unlike a permanent venue, we set up and dismantle our Tipis for each event which means they’re not up all year round, permanently for people to come and view. They’re also not the quickest of things to build so, unfortunately, we can’t set them up on demand for couples to see! Our open weekend gives you the opportunity to come and get a feel for what being in a Tipi and what a Tipi wedding is really like. Pictures don’t quite cut it! We often get told “they’re sooo much bigger inside than what they look like from the outside”. And while photos from our website (or Pinterest!) can give you a good idea, often the space can come across as dark. This really isn’t the case.

We’re running an evening Tipi showcase on Saturday 27th April (between 5pm – 8pm) and a full day on Sunday 28th April (between 11am – 4pm), giving you the opportunity to see the Tipis during the day and/or night (feel free to come along to both!). Opportunities to see the Tipis after dark aren’t so common and the Tipis really come into their own at night so it’s a great opportunity to see how magical they really.

#2. Meet us, the Tentario Tipi Team

Whilst we love chatting to people over email and phone. There’s nothing quite like a bit of human contact and for you to check out who you’ve been talking with / who will be taking care of you along your Tentario Tipi journey. We’re a small, family run business so we’ll (by “we”, we mean Becky and Andy, the Tentario directors) be on hand (along with a few helpers!) to chat everything Tipis with you.

#3.Meet our associated company, Outdoor Event Equipment Hire (“OEEH”) (www.oeeh.co.uk)

More of often than not, with a Tipi wedding, you’ll need to hire in ancillary equipment such as toilets and a generator (to power your event!). We can arrange these items for you via our associated company, OEEH. OEEH also supply refrigeration trailers and heaters (depending on the time of year of your wedding) and will have all of these items on display over the weekend for you to see.

#4. Meet our Bell Tent pals at Beautiful Bells

Our good friends, Beautiful Bells (https://beautiful-bells.co.uk/) will be set up alongside us showcasing their bell tents. Which, in our opinion, are the perfect addition to a Tipi wedding! Not only do the bell tents fit in aesthetically alongside the Tipis, glamping after your Tipi wedding means you only have a few short steps to go to bed! And your wedding can wind down a bit more naturally rather than kicking everyone out at midnight!

#5. Need a Tipi Wedding Venue?

We’re really lucky in that our Tipi Open Day 2019 will be taking place at The Venue in Woodmancote, West Sussex (https://www.facebook.com/Weddings-Events-Venue-in-Woodmancote-West-Sussex-857938687563735/). If you’re in the early stages of Tipi wedding planning and don’t have a location for the Tipis to be set up, you can meet the landowners and discuss the possibility of having your Tipi wedding at The Venue. The Venue is in a beautiful, lakeside setting nestled in the heart of the West Sussex countryside and only 20 minutes from Brighton and 30 minutes from Gatwick.

#6. Decide on interiors and furnishings

We’ll have three Giant Hat Tipis and one Kungsornen Tipi set up at the open day. One of the Giant Hats will be set up with round tables and chairs and one set up with our long, wooden tables (with a combination of chairs and benches). You can decide on which you would prefer. We’ll also have all of our “Tipi extras” that we can provide on display so you can have a look at what you would like included. It will also give you the opportunity to think about Tipi décor. Whilst the Tipis don’t need a huge amount of décor (they look pretty great on their own, especially with our fairy lights!) by adding personal touches to décor, you can really add your own stamp and inject a bit of your own personalities to them.

#7. Get a feel for what a Tipi wedding is really like

Tables will be laid; fires will be roaring, and fairy lights lit. It will give you the perfect idea of what your big day will look like. And with Beautiful Bells bell tents alongside, the festival wedding vibe will well and truly be created!

#8. WHERE AND WHEN?!
