Top Tips To Styling Your Tipi Wedding
The great thing about a Tipi wedding and the Tipis themselves, is that they don’t necessarily require an awful lot of styling/dressing. Their natural, rustic materials give them a unique character unlike any other wedding reception venue. That said, couples will often want to put their own little stamp on proceedings and style the Tipis in their own little way to make them look even more spectacular. For those looking for some inspiration or a little direction, we at Tentario have compiled this list of top tips to help you style your Tipi wedding just right!
Decorating The Exposed Wood
With the natural beige canvas of the Tipi and the brown colour of the Tipi woodwork, a little greenery and pockets of colourful flowers can make the Tipis look truly stunning. You don’t need a lot of this to get the balance right, but with so much exposed wood throughout the Tipi structure, it seems a shame to waste it and gives you a great styling opportunity. Your florist may have some creative ideas so be sure to give them the relevant Tipi dimensions and heights from us, especially of the internal framework. A little greenery wrapped parallel with the fairy lights around the main Tipi poles looks particularly impressive as well as shrubbery hanging from the horizontal cross-beams just above head height.
An old classic – there’s something about a row of mini flags strung across a venue that instantly makes people cheery. Whether it’s soft pastel colours, a vibrant mix, or maybe something patriotic or relevant to you, it will look amazing in the Tipis. Bunting is also a great way of conforming to a particular wedding theme or colour scheme that you may have. We have our own selection to choose from, or if you have your own, we will happily put this up for you as we’re setting up the Tipis.
Hanging lanterns look very impressive strung across the dance floor or cascading down from the top of the Tipis, especially with one of our mirror balls sparkling in between. Even simple balloons can add a splash of colour if needed, perhaps tied to the backs of chairs or to frame the open side of the Tipis.
If you don’t know where to start with styling your Tipis or you’d rather get someone else to do it for you, we highly recommend (www.tohaveandtohireweddings.com) and (www.hireyourday.com). Both of these companies have a wealth of experience in the wedding industry and have worked with us many times over the years with our Tipi couples. They know what looks good and what doesn’t and you’ll be amazed at the amount they have to offer. You can simply hire items from them or you can have them style your Tipi wedding for you – either way, your Tipis will look amazing!
Tipi styling doesn’t have to be difficult, or expensive. It’s all about getting creative and going with what makes you happy!
