How to plan a simple wedding renewal ceremony

When it comes to booking your Tipi wedding, you want to ensure you’re booking the right Tipi supplier for you. Ask yourself – are you happy with the level of service you have received so far? Are their correspondences prompt, personable and helpful? Are you confident you’re making the right decision? After all, your wedding day is going to be one of the most memorable, special and important days of your life – so you need to make sure you’re in safe hands!

You will obviously have a few burning questions that you want answers to immediately – do they have availability on your selected date? Can they send you a quote based on your requirements? Beyond the basics, why not ask some more detailed and specific questions that will not only provide you with some very useful answers, but will also help you develop more of an overall understanding of the Tipi company you are dealing with. We at Tentario, have highlighted below 4 key questions that you may want to ask your Tipi supplier that you may not have already considered. These questions will dig a little bit deeper into the Tipi hire company and could ultimately help you make that all important decision in your outdoor wedding planning process.

1) Do you have any testimonials/reviews?

The best way to know whether a Tipi hire company is any good is to read some reviews or testimonials from previous couples who have experienced their products and service first-hand. Whilst no company is going to publicise a negative review, you want to be making sure there are plenty of them (not just one or two!) and make sure a number of these are relatively recent. You need to be sure that the Tipi supplier is maintaining its level of customer service over a long period of time and not just riding a wave of a glowing review from three years ago!

Be sure to have a look for any Facebook and Google reviews on the Tipi supplier. The company itself has no control over these reviews, so they might tell a different story!

2) Can you guarantee set-up and takedown dates early on?

Some Tipi hire companies may be able to do so, some may not. It simply depends on what other events and weddings they have booked in on the same weekend as yours.

Being a relatively small company, we usually have just the one Tipi wedding (or at the very most, two) on any given weekend throughout the year. This means that you have our undivided attention all week long! We can confirm the days that your Tipis will be set-up and taken down at a very early stage, allowing you to plan other aspects of your outdoor wedding based around our Tipis. Further still, wherever possible we will always try to set-up our Tipis for a wedding either on the Wednesday or Thursday (assuming it’s a Saturday wedding of course). This builds in a level of contingency for everyone involved and allows you plenty of time to decorate/dress the Tipis the day before your big day.

3) Do you offer an emergency call-out service during our wedding day?

Most Tipi hire companies should offer this service to you. We at Tentario most certainly do and we’re available any time of the day whilst our Tipis are in your care. We can also guarantee that this person would always be one of our two company directors. You can rest assured that throughout our entire Tipi booking process – from your initial enquiry, through to your site visit and the set-up and takedown of your Tipis, you will always be dealing with the same two people. We pride ourselves on this consistent, personal touch.

4) Do you have any other useful supplier recommendations?

If you don’t ask, you don’t get! Your Tipi supplier should be used to dealing with plenty of other suppliers in the wedding industry, so take advantage of what and who they know. You may already know exactly what suppliers you want to use, but if not, ask for their advice.

We at Tentario have contacts with a number and range of wedding suppliers from venues and caterers, right through to DJ’s and celebrants. We have either worked with or met in person all of our recommended suppliers and wouldn’t be recommending these to our couples if we didn’t feel they were up to the job.

This year we’re delighted to announce our association with another new, local company called Outdoor Event Equipment Hire (OEEH) ( Based in Brighton, OEEH provide generators, luxury toilet units, heaters and mobile chillers should you require any for your outdoor wedding. We also provide a service to our couples whereby if you were to book any items from OEEH alongside our Tipis, we would arrange and co-ordinate these items for you to save you dealing with a number of different suppliers. This is another step that we have made to try and make your Tipi wedding planning that little bit easier and stress-free.
