Wedding favours guests will want to have!

Traditional wedding favours can be quite predictable and to be honest, a bit boring. Sugar-coated almonds aren’t everyone’s idea of a great keepsake, but knowing what alternatives are out there isn’t always easy.
Quite often, it isn’t the favour itself that’s the highlight, but the way it’s presented. Here’s some great ideas for wedding favours to get you started – how you present them is up to you!
A useful keepsake
A glass with their name on. This type of gift is often one of those things you need to present well, in order to make it super-special. You could arrange personalised tumbler glasses on a table, with a large chalkboard noticeboard reminding guests to find their name, use the glass during the evening and take it home with them afterwards! Bottle openers can have ‘use me, keep me’ tags on them and be hung on a corkboard with hooks in it.
Edible wedding favours
This can cover everything, from sweets through to homemade cake! Edible wedding favours are always popular, especially if they’re wrapped or contained in something that the guests can keep as a memento of your wedding. We particularly love the idea of little pots of honey or jam – not only do they look great, they make for wonderful keepsakes too.
Wedding favour drink ideas
Hot cocoa, ready mixed with mini marshmallows, inside little jars. Homemade sloe gin, is another great option – as you can buy mini glass bottles from sites such as The Wedding of My Dreams. You could also buy mini bottles of booze from your local supermarket and purchase personalised tags for them on Etsy.
Herb-based wedding favours
A beautiful lavender planted into a wooden box can add scent and colour to your tables. How about filling the box with small potted lavenders (or other herbs), so your table centrepieces also become your guest wedding favours! Succulents and mini cacti are other great options.
Packets of seeds or a single flower bulb
Watch our love grow. These make for super-cute wedding favours and a budget-friendly option that ties in beautifully with an outdoor wedding theme.
Lottery tickets
Giving adult guests a single lottery ticket or scratch card is another unusual idea. You can buy personalised lottery ticket and scratch card covers from Etsy stores, such as Sixpence Paperie or Oh Happy Days.
